Textbooks are distributed to individual students during Registration Week. Students are responsible for returning the exact same book checked out to them by the last day of school. It is the student’s responsibility to return books in an acceptable manner and in satisfactory condition.
The student is responsible for any library or textbook not returned. Failure to pay for lost books may result in the withholding of student records. This can include report cards, transcripts, or diplomas. Students may make partial payments until the book has been paid for. All payments are cash only.
EDUCATION CODE SECTION 48094 authorizes the district to secure reimbursement from students or legal guardians for the cost of lost, stolen or damaged property. Students can check out a maximum of 3 library books. Library books are checked out for two weeks and may be renewed two times. A fine of $.10 will be charged for each day the library book is not returned.
